Felicia van den End | Flutist

Felicia van den End is a Dutch flutist specialising in contemporary music, new repertoire and interdisciplinary performance. Her work is shaped by artistic collaboration, curiosity and a strong interest in exploring new ways of presenting music.

She is a core member of the New European Ensemble, where she works closely with composers, musicians and artists on new repertoire and interdisciplinary productions. She also performs regularly with Het Muziek and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, moving between contemporary ensemble music, chamber music and larger-scale artistic projects.

Felicia has performed internationally as a soloist and ensemble musician. A defining project was Stockhausen’s Aus Licht, in which she performed the solo role of Der Kinderfänger. Her career has taken her to concert halls, festivals and productions in the Netherlands and internationally, and has also included collaborations with orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Residentie Orkest and Balletorkest.

Beyond performance, Felicia has a longstanding interest in the relationship between music and society. As co-founder of Foundation Sonoro, together with percussionist Pepe García, she developed projects connecting young musicians in Mexico and the Netherlands and collaborated with organisations including Musicians Without Borders. This interest also led her to complete a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Alongside her performing career, Felicia regularly coaches students at Fontys Conservatorium and has worked with young musicians in the Netherlands and abroad.

She studied flute with Abbie de Quant, Pierre-Yves Artaud and Jacques Zoon, graduating summa cum laude from both her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, before joining the Orchestra Academy of Opernhaus Zürich.

At the heart of her work is a fascination with new music and the creative exchange between performers, composers and other artists.
